Finnish National Open Science Coordination engages the entire research community and has over 300 active experts in its working groups. The coordination is supported by the National Open Science Secretariat working within the Federation of Finnish Learned Societies.

Open Science and Research Initiative
Open Science and Research Inititative (2014-2017) was a project of Ministry of Education and Culture, which developed important guidelines for promoting Finnish open science. The Inititative was based on extensive cooperation between ministries, universities, research institutes and research funders.

Declaration for Open Science and Research 2020-2025
The Declaration for Open Science and Research presents a common vision for the Finnish research community. This vision states that open science and research should be integrated in researchers’ everyday work and support not only the effectiveness of research outputs but also the quality of research. Furthermore, the vision sees the Finnish research community as an international forerunner in open science and research.
